fifa 18 Confirmed As The Only EA Game On Nintendo Switch

The arrival of FIFA on the Nintendo Switch was inevitable and it was indeed only a question of when rather than if. Now we know courtesy of EA itself that FIFA 18 will be available on Nintendo’s upcoming console. Just like the previous FIFA titles that arrived on earlier Nintendo consoles, the Switch version will differ from its PS4, PC and Xbox One counterparts.

Gamereactor broke the news which they covered during a FIFA event in Paris over the weekend. Peter Moore, EA’s chief competitive officer spoke to Gamereactor not only confirming the Switch news but also putting a timeframe on FIFA 18’s release.

udging from past release patterns we might have FIFA 18 out in mid September, probably Sept. 12 or 19, since those are Tuesdays.

Meanwhile Moore also confirmed that the Switch version of FIFA 18 is being developed by EA Canada the same team that is working on the Xbox One, PC and PS4 versions, so we can keep our fingers crossed and hope that the Switch version won’t be a drastic change from the regular versions. FIFA 18 receives some considerable screen time in the new trailer, sharing the spotlight with Dragon Quest Heroes as a few friends duke it out on the console. From what we can tell, it seems to be shaping up pretty well. Recent rumours speculated that the Switch version will be based on the PS3/360 builds of FIFA 18, although EA has insisted it’s being “built from the ground-up” for Switch.

Moore while expressing his excitement over the Switch also ended up dropping a bombshell on Switch fans when he confirmed that currently FIFA 18 is the only EA game in development for Nintendo’s new console. This certainly rains over the parade for people who were praying for Mass Effect: Andromeda to join the party.
