Lack of competition really doesn't do NBA 2K any favors. Granted, NBA Live is back, but it'll take some time before a serious debate about which one is better can even start. Therefore, NBA 2K is its own worst enemy and only serious opponent.

NBA 2K18 is a popular basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It will be the 19th installment in the NBA 2K franchise and the successor to NBA 2K17. NBA 2K18 will feature lifelike crowds, more realistic shoes and improvement in player movement. It's rather hard to imagine 2K18 to be subject to a serious shake-up, but improving the following eight things should get some serious consideration from the game's creators.

Make Banners And Retired Jerseys Stay Hanging From The Rafters
This one is especially infuriating when you've worked extra hard for your title. You finally win the championship, the next season the players are decorated with the rings and the banner will finally hang from the rafters... or will it?You see it going there, but just a moment later, as the game is about to start, it's nowhere to be found.

The same is the case with retired jerseys - I'm bringing Dwayne Wade back for a reason! Also, why is it only possible to retire Hall of Famers? Udonis Haslem is a Miami Heat legend, he deserves his number retired as well. The same goes for other players on other teams.

A New Engine
FIFA 17 looked really fresh thanks to the new Frostbite Engine and it seems that NBA 2K18 could use a similar facelift as well. Player and crowd movements just feel stale, so do the graphics and the animations.
NBA 2K enjoys a great following and complete lack of competition, so it's understandable that 2K Games became a little bit lazy. A new engine would allow it to look even better.

More Than Two Jerseys For Relocated Teams
Team relocation is a nice feature, as it allows you to pick the city that you're going to relocate to, team logo and colors, all the way to the hardwood flooring.But it would be even nicer if the feature would allow to create more than just two jerseys. It would be more fun to have at least alternative, Christmas and long-sleeve jerseys as well.

More Classic Teams
This entry has already been covered in a previous list, but it's always good to remind everyone about the need for other classic match-ups apart from those available in the game. From the 1977 Portland Trail Blazers to the 2008 Denver Nuggets, it's always fun to measure up teams of the past with present ones.There were a lot of special teams in NBA history. Some failed because of chemistry issues, others enjoyed that one special season when everything clicked.

Skip The Plot In MyCareer Mode
OK, it was rarely fun, as the new MyCareer was rather a cliche-ridden mode, that expected fans to be real besites patient and turn a blind eye to its rather uninteresting storylines. While the last MyCareer was the best, it was still just OK when it comes to video game storyline standards.wouldn't everyone be just fine with... playing basketball games? Ultimately, this is what the mode boils down to. Bending game outcomes for the purposes of the story makes no sense.

Easier Trading For Superstars
The problem with trading in this mode is that it is impossible to get one player for three, let alone two for five and some picks. Granted, during the course of the season you're able to do some interesting trades, but every time you've got to sacrifice a superstar for a superstar. That's not always the case in the NBA.

Fix Face Scanning
Maybe it would be better to go with the old "attaching-your-picture-to-the-template-face" method? This would allow for a less frustrating and time-consuming way of appearing in the game. The face doesn't have to be ideal, making it similar is good enough.

Fix The Difficulty Levels
This needs a serious upgrade in all of sports games, as it is happening in FIFA as well - going from 5:0 to 0:2 when stepping up just one level is just ridiculous.

Of course you can edit sliders and fit the game to your level, but ultimately, that just feels like cheating. And please, do something with reaching fouls while we're at it! Not every steal attempt must end with a call, you know?
