The Madden is an American football video game series developed and distributed by EA sports. EA releases an updated version of the series every year. EA is shifting its Madden NFL football franchise to the Frostbite graphics engine starting with Madden 18, according to material the company provided to its shareholders . Frostbite is the same technology that powers the visuals for EA’s near-photorealistic shooter Battlefield 1 and Star Wars: Battlefront. Battlefield developer DICE created Frostbite, and now EA has an engineering team dedicated to updating and maintaining those tools. What this means for Madden players is that the next entry in the franchise could have a higher level of graphical fidelity than ever before — or at least, that’s what EA is promising.

“Our Madden NFL franchise will transition to the Frostbite engine with Madden NFL 18,” reads a note to EA investors. “[This will unlock] major visual advancements and new gameplay experiences that will excite dedicated Madden players, football fans, and sports fans overall.”

Madden tries to have the best user interface for which it has switched various engines to stick with the best. EA had been using the Ignite Engine for its most renowned series including Madden. But it had some different plans for other games like FIFA which switched to Frostbite Engine. Now, fans started expecting the same from Madden. With rumors doing rounds about this an official statement regarding the same came out. It has been confirmed now that Madden 18 will be using the most opted Frostbite Engine.

EA DICE introduced the world to the Frostbite engine a few years back, but the current reiteration is the third generation of Frostbite that has been used in games like FIFA 17, Battlefield 1, and Battlefront.

This industry demands an engine that is highly versatile and handy. Frostbite as per the research is the best option available in the market for now. Fans definitely want Madden to have the best of features so, they have high expectations from Madden to come up with Frostbite for its next series.

EA made an official statement regarding the same during its quarter financial meeting:

The switch to Frostbite was a very wise decision taken by FIFA. It took the game to new heights of success by improving its graphics, game play, music and adding additional features to it. The engine is expected to work the same for Madden as well. It will allow the players to have a better level of contact with the game. Also, it would make the game play more realistic and authentic.

With Madden also joining the Frostbite line with FIFA, fans are inquisitive about the other games as well. They are wondering whether the same transition is going to take place for other EA franchise like NHL, NBA Live, and UFC or not.
